Columbia area sophomore makes Top 75 in Rivals high school basketball rankings
The Class of 2021 is looking like it will be another big one for high school basketball prospects throughout South Carolina and Korey Richardson looks to be a part of it.
The Lower Richland sophomore was ranked No. 60 in Rivals national rankings for the Class of 2021. The 6-foot-3 guard already has drawn interest from South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Iowa State, Providence, Wake Forest, Wofford and Virginia.
Richardson has yet to pick up his first offer and plans on taking unofficial visits after the Diamond Hornets season is over. He is averaging 12 points, six rebounds and six assists this year.
Richardson was one of three players from South Carolina in Rivals Top 75. Christ Church big man John Butler at No. 54 and Wren’s Bryce McGowens at 66.
The 7-foot Butler already has offers from Baylor, DePaul, Saint Louis and Tennessee. Butler also has visited South Carolina in September. He is averaging 17.1 points, 7.6 rebounds ad 4.9 blocks per game.
McGowens, the younger brother of Pittsburgh freshman Trey McGowens, has offers from Clemson, St. John’s, Mercer, St. John’s and TCU.
