Midlands basketball players picked for Carolinas Classic All-Star games

Nine Midlands high school basketball players were picked to play in the Carolinas Classic All-Star games.

The rosters for the games, which feature some of the top seniors in North and South Carolina, were released Wednesday. The games will be played March 23 at Hoggard High School in Wilmington, NC.

Spring Valley had two girls picked for the girls game – Taylor Lewis and Taylor Britt. Other local players on the girls’ team were Swansea’s Danae McNeal, Lexington’s Olivia Thompson and Westwood’s Maliyah Lockett. Dreher’s Teresa Jones is head coach for the girls team.

Blythewood’s Tre Jackson, Keenan’s Asanti Price, Gray Collegiate’s Tommy Bruner and Ridge View’s Malcolm Wilson were picked for the boys’ team. Keenan’s Zach Norris head coach for the boys’ team.

South Carolina signee Trae Hannibal also was picked for the game.

Rosters for the North-South all-star games will be announced in the coming weeks.
