Tuesday rewind: Lexington girls, boys secure playoff seeding with wins over Dutch Fork
The Lexington basketball teams secured their seedings for next week’s playoffs on Tuesday night.
The Lexington girls wrapped up their fourth straight region championship with a 56-40 win over Dutch Fork. The Wildcats will be home for at least the first two playoff games. The Class 5A girls playoffs begin Feb. 17.
Lindsay Garner scored 15 of her season-high 21 points in the first half to lead Lexington.
In the boys’ game, Cam Scott hit three free throws with 2.3 seconds left to give the Wildcats a 47-44 win over region champion Dutch Fork. With the win, Lexington clinches the second spot in the region and will host Carolina Forest on Feb. 16.
Scott led Lexington with 14 and Coulter Bell had 10. Houston Jones led Dutch Fork with 16 points and Jarvis Green had 11. Jones hit a 3-pointer to tie it at 44. with 19. 5 seconds left.
