Camden’s Joyce Edwards became the third Midlands girls basketball player to hit the 2,000-point plateau this season as she hit the mark in Thursday’s 77-21 win over Hanahan in Class 3A playoffs.

Edwards, the top ranked player in the country for Class of 2024, scored 24 points as the sophomore is right at 2,000 points for her career. She also grabbed her 1,000th rebound in the win.

Edwards joins Hammond senior Tyra Myers and Keenan junior MiLaysia Fulwiley, who hit 2,000 points this year.

Other highlights from Thursday’s playoff action:

Fulwiley was a rebound shy of a quadruple-double in Keenan’s 84-24 win. She had 28 points, 10 steals, 10 assists and nine rebounds.

Top-ranked Irmo defeated Indian Land, 71-60, behind 24 points from junior Brandon Crawford. AC Flora got a triple-double from Collin Murray-Boyles (14 points, 14 reb., 10 blocks) in the 55-41 win over Catawba Ridge.

Davis Bowne got his first playoff win as Batesburg-Leesville coach, just hours after his wife gave birth to a baby boy. The Panthers defeated Greer Middle College, 44-41.
