The best SC boys, girls basketball players named to All-State teams. See who made it

GG Jackson, MiLaysia Fulwiley, Joyce Edwards and Talaysia Cooper are some of the top players in the country in their respective classes. On Wednesday, the players were among those honored by the S.C. High School Basketball Coaches Association, which released its players of the year and all-state teams for this season.

Jackson, ranked by Rivals as the top player nationally in the Class of 2023, was named South Carolina’s Class 5A Boys Player of the Year for the first time.

For the second straight year, Keenan’s Fulwiley, a junior, and Camden’s Edwards, a sophomore, shared Class 3A Girls Player of the Year honors. Both standouts have scored more than 2,000 points in their careers.

Cooper, the reigning Gatorade Player of the Year and a University of South Carolina signee, was named Class A Player of the Year again. The McDonald’s All-American went over the 3,000-point mark for her career this season.

Other boys players of the year winners were A.C. Flora’s Collin Murray-Boyles (Class 4A), Blue Ridge’s Justin Bailey (Class 3A), Andrew Jackson’s Ca’Darrius Sowell (Class 2A) and South Carolina signee Zachary Davis, who shared Class A honors with Carvers Bay’s Tevin Young.

Other girls players of the year winners were West Ashley’s Kristen Jenkins (Class 5A), Westside’s Destiny Middleton (Class 4A) and Christ Church’s McCall King (Class 2A).
