It’s time to vote for The State’s Midlands high school basketball freshman, sophomore or junior Boys Player of the Year. Voting ends at noon Friday, and you can vote as many times you like. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page on Friday. (This is not scientific and is meant to be just for fun.)

Basketball top underclassman nominees

Arden Conyers, Westwood: All-region selection, the junior and averaged 18.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists a game.

Brandon Crawford, Irmo: The junior post player averaged 12.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.9 blocks and 1.3 steals to help lead the Yellow Jackets to the state semifinals.

JD Gardner, Heathwood Hall: The junior guard averaged 16.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.3 steals per game for the Highlanders.

GG Jackson, Ridge View: The junior, No. 1 ranked player nationally in the Class of 2023 and Class 5A Player of the Year has the Blazers in the state finals. He is averaging 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game.

Ryan Lominack, Dreher: The junior guard shot 46% from 3-point range. He averaged 14 points, 3.0 rebounds per game for the Blue Devils.

Treyvon Maddox, White Knoll: The freshman made a splash by averaging 11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game for the Timberwolves.

Collin Murray-Boyles, A.C. Flora: The Falcons junior is a Class 4A Player of the Year. He is averaging 18.3 points, 11.4 rebounds, 5.3 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Flora, which is in the state semifinals.

Chrisean Oree, Keenan: Oree earned all-state honors for the Raiders. The junior is averaging 12.2 points, 2.2 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals. Keenan is playing in the Class 3A semifinals.

Avante Parker, Gray Collegiate: The 6-foot-8 junior is beginning to garner lots of recruiting interest after leading the War Eagles to the Class 2A semifinals. He averaged 11.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.0 blocks to earn all-state honors.

Cam Scott, Lexington: The sophomore earned a spot on the Class 5A all-state team. Scott averaged 21.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the Wildcats.
