Teams set for this year’s Chick-fil-A Classic. Players include nation’s No. 1 recruit
Another strong field will be coming to South Carolina for the annual Chick-fil-A Classic.
Teams were announced Monday for one of the country’s top high school basketball tournaments that’s held annually in the Midlands. And for the second straight season, the event will be held at River Bluff High School in Lexington County.
Tournament dates are Dec. 27-30. A full schedule and ticket information will be released at a later date.
The top players set to play in this year’s Chick-fil-A Classic include Cameron Boozer, ranked No. 1 in ESPN’s Class of 2025; Bryson Tucker (IMG Academy), ESPN Class of 2024 No. 4; Amier Ali (IMG Academy), ESPN Class of 2024 No. 13; Isaiah Collier (Wheeler High), ESPN Class of 2023 No. 6. All are five-star prospects who have yet to commit to a school for college.
Boozer and his twin brother, Cayden, are both high school sophomores. They are the sons of Duke and NBA star Carlos Boozer and play for Christopher Columbus High from Miami.
Oak Hill also will be making its return to the tournament and will have a familari face as its coach. Former Ridge View coach Yerrick Stoneman is in his first year as Warriors’ head coach.

Teams for the Carolinas Challenge event were released on Wednesday and include Augusta Christian, Richland Northeast, Hartsville, Cardinal Newman, Charlotte Country Day (NC), Seaforth (NC), Concord Academy (NC) and Charlotte Christian (NC).
The Chick-fil-A Classic for years was held at Richland Northeast High School before making the move to Lexington County.
A number of Chick-fil-A Classic alums went on to play in the NBA, including Steph Curry, Zion Williamson, Miles Bridges, Bol Bol, PJ Dozier, Cam Reddish, James Wiseman and Anthony Edwards. Four players picked in the 2021 NBA Draft, including No. 2 pick Jalen Green, played in the event.
