Vote for The State’s girls high school basketball player of the week
It’s time to vote for The State’s high school girls basketball Player of the Week from Midlands-area high schools and games played Jan. 16-21. Voting ends Friday at noon. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page.
Coaches can send nominations to Lou Bezjak by 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Joyce Edwards, Jr., Camden: Junior averaged 30.3 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks in Bulldogs’ three wins.
Teryn Hobson, 8th grade, Lugoff-Elgin: Eighth grader had 16 points, 6 steals, 4 rebounds, 2 blocks in L-E’s lone game last week.
Chi’Nya Isaac, Soph., Lower Richland: Sophomore averaged 19.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 4 steals in Diamond Hornets’ two wins.
Lauren Jacobs, Soph., Heathwood Hall: Sophomore averaged 25 points and 9 rebounds in Heathwood’s two wins last week.
Samira Khalil, Jr., Hammond: Junior averaged 21.5 points, 3 rebounds, 1.5 steals in the Skyhawks’ two games last week.
Skylar McCray, Fr., AC Flora: Freshman had career-high 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 steals in Falcons’ lone game last week, a win over Lugoff-Elgin.
Zie’l Ratchford, Soph., Spring Valley: Sophomore averaged 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1.5 steals in the Vikings’ two wins last week.
India Williams, Fr., Blythewood: Freshman averaged 13 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists in Bengals’ two games last week.
