Jordan Bruner of Spring Valley is set to begin his official visits this weekend at Yale and he will be taking one less official visit than originally planned.

Bruner (6-9) has cut Temple from his list, leaving him with officials to Georgia on Sept. 18, Tennessee on Oct. 2 and Clemson on Oct. 9.

Bruner has had a long-running relationship with Clemson and is looking forward to his weekend next month with the Tigers.

“They are a great school and they’ve been recruiting me for the longest of all the schools I’m looking at,” Bruner said. “I’ve developed a pretty good relationship with all the coaches. It’s just a great school and they have a good program that’s pretty much getting better every year.”

Bruner added that he likes Clemson’s style of play and coach Brad Brownell has told him he would be a good fit for what he likes to do.

“He likes that I have a high basketball IQ, can shoot the basketball and has the versatility to do pretty much anything that I’m needed to do and can guard multiple positions,” he said.

Bruner is coming an injury plagued junior season. He tore an MCL in the preseason and only played in a couple of playoff games. He worked hard to get back to health in the spring and summer but developed a stress fracture in his lower left leg that his bothering him now.

“I was maybe 70 percent in April, if that,” Bruner said. “June, I was probably about 80 percent. In June, I hyperextended my knee in a practice and then I started feeling what I thought was shin splints, but now I’m pretty convinced it’s a stress fracture in my shin. It was kind of tough. I never really got fully healthy over the summer and I’m still working on getting back now from this stress fracture.”

Bruner said he tried to play through the pain this summer and didn’t let on to any coaches that he was still dealing with injuries. He plans to get an X-ray soon on his shin.

Bruner’s sister played for USC and he said he had some contact from the Gamecocks but never expected an offer from them. He said he doesn’t have a favorite among his four and he’s planning to sign in November.
