Midlands High School Basketball teams of the week
GIRLS
Lexington – Snapped Irmo’s 23-game region winning streak with 57-47 overtime victory over Irmo on Friday and followed it by beating South Aiken on Tuesday. Wildcats lead Region 5-4A at 4-0.
Ridge View – Knocked off ranked opponents Spring Valley and Orangeburg Wilkinson among its three wins over the last week.
BOYS
Dutch Fork – Got back in Region 4-4A race with an overtime win over Westwood and knocking off region-leading Spring Valley, which was ranked No. 6 in latest S.C. High School Basketball Coaches poll.
Lugoff-Elgin – Picked up first region win of the season by knocking off Ridge View, which was ranked No. 9 in Midlands Top 10 poll.
