Midlands High School Basketball Players of the Week

A look at some of the top performers in the Midlands over the past week:

Mckinley Brooks-Sumpter (A.C. Flora) – Freshman had a career-high 25 points in Tuesday’s win over Camden.

Ahlea Myers (Hammond) – Sophomore had 26 points, seven rebounds and eight assists in win over Cardinal Newman last Friday.

Mya Parter (Heathwood Hall) – Has scored 20 or more points in seven consecutive games, including 29 in Friday’s win over Augusta Christian.

Caitlin Pickens (C.A. Johnson) – Scored 22 points in Tuesday’s win over Lamar.

Olivia Thompson (Lexington) – Had 19 points in a win over White Knoll.

Josh Caldwell (Heathwood Hall) – Had 23 points in Tuesday’s win over Cardinal Newman.

Darius Bryant (Lexington) – Scored 29 points in Lexington’s 65-57 overtime win over White Knoll last Friday.

Clyde Trapp (Lower Richland) – Averaged 20.5 points in wins over Dreher and Ridge View in the past week.

Deangelo Ward (Spring Valley) – Hit five 3-pointers and scored 21 points in Monday’s victory over Westwood.

Josh Williamson (Airport) – Scored just six points Tuesday against Brookland-Cayce but hit game-winning 3-pointer in 46-44 win.
