Midlands High School Basketball Teams of the Week
GIRLS
Newberry – Came back from 12-point deficit to defeat Keenan 68-64 and hand Raiders first region loss. Bulldogs in first place in Region 3-2A standings.
Spring Valley – Turned in one of best performances of the year, defeating Westwood 69-33 on Monday to take over Region 4-4A lead.
BOYS
Airport – Eagles have won eight of their past nine games, including Tuesday’s thrilling 46-44 win over Brookland-Cayce. Airport is No. 10 in Class 3A poll and hosts Region 5-3A co-leader Midland Valley on Thursday.
Ben Lippen – Ended Hammond’s 36-game winning streak with a 54-48 win on Tuesday. Caleb Burnett had 14 points in the win.
