Midlands High School Basketball Players of Week

Tanise Davis (Fairfield Central) – Averaged 20.5 points in wins over Mid-Carolina and Newberry over the past week.

Destinee Langford (Lexington) – Had 33 points in Friday’s 56-44 win over Irmo.

Jaelyn Murray (Dreher) – Averaged 29.5 points in wins over Chapin and A.C. Flora last week.

Maya Parter (Heathwood Hall) – Averaged 35.5 points in two games last week, including 36 in Tuesday’s win over Augusta Christian.

Shantay Taylor (Spring Valley) – Had 23 points and 14 rebounds in Tuesday’s win over Dutch Fork.

Darius Bryant (Lexington) – Scored 31 points, including 10 in overtime in Lexington’s 69-64 win over South Aiken on Tuesday.

Jordan Davis (Dutch Fork) – Continued his Midlands scoring lead by averaging 25.5 points a game this week.

R.J. Gunn (Irmo) – Scored 25 points in Yellow Jackets’ region-clinching win over Lexington on Friday.

Christiaan Jones (Cardinal Newman) – Had 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Tuesday’s upset of nationally-ranked Hammond.

T.J. Knight (White Knoll) – Scored 28 points in Tuesday’s 68-64 victory over River Bluff.
