Ridge View High defensive back Latheron Rogers-Anderson committed to East Carolina on Tuesday.

Rogers-Anderson visited ECU over the weekend and informed coach Scottie Montgomery of his decision Tuesday night.

“Coach (Deke) Adams been recruiting me since he was at Carolina so we had a relationship built already,” Rogers-Anderson said. “It was just a perfect fit and I have a opportunity to start early on in the program.”

Rogers-Anderson previously planned to enroll early but will finish his year out at Ridge View.

Rogers-Anderson is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports, and the No. 20 prospect in the state by 247Sports Composite. He had 13 offers, including Appalachian State, Colorado State and Cincinnati.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Anderson played his first three seasons at Lakewood High before transferring to Ridge View this year. Through four games, he has 25 tackles and an interception while rushing for 189 yards and three touchdowns on offense.

Rogers-Anderson is the fourth Ridge View player to commit to a Division I school, joining Damani Staley (South Carolina), Cam Butler (Colorado State) and Cam Mueller (Old Dominion).
