Chapin QB transferring to Ben Lippen
Chapin quarterback Trad Beatty is switching schools.
Beatty said Wednesday he’s transferring to Ben Lippen and will attend classes there after Christmas break. His last day at Chapin will be Friday.
After battling injuries for the first half of the season, Beatty and Cooper Bemis proved to be a strong 1-2 combo at QB, helping the Eagles to the Class 4A Lower State title game.
Beatty was 93 of 155 for 1,414 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also ran for 345 yards and three scores. The 6-foot-5 Beatty is ranked the No. 15 prospect in the state for the Class of 2018 by 247Sports.
Ben Lippen won the SCISA 3A championship and returns several players, including Virginia Tech commit Bryce Thompson.
Beatty, a pitcher, also plans to play baseball.
