Spring Valley’s Channing Tindall made the list of the Maxwell Football Club’s National High School Player of the Year watch list released Wednesday.

The senior linebacker was one of 100 high school players picked on the list. Tindall is a four-star recruit and No. 1 ranked prospect in South Carolina by 247Sports. He was selected for U.S. Army All-American Game.

Tindall had eight tackles in the Vikings’ season opener Friday against Fort Mill.

Tindall was one of the three players playing in South Carolina to make the list. South Pointe’s Derion Kendrick and Lewisville’s Josh Belk were others. Former Wilson standout Xavier Thomas, who transferred to IMG Academy in Florida, is on the list.

Former Blythewood standout Jordyn Adams is on the list. Adams is playing at Green Hope High School in North Carolina this year.

Gamecock targets Dax Hollifield and KJ Henry also were on the list.

The 16 semifinalists will be announced Nov. 14 and the six finalists will be revealed Dec. 14. The winner will be announced Jan. 17 and presented at the Maxwell’s national awards gala on March 9 in Atlantic City, N.J.

Last year’s winner was Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) quarterback Tate Martell. The award was first presented in 2007.
