Two Midlands players have hand in Liberty’s upset win

Two players with Midlands ties had a hand in Liberty’s upset win over Baylor on Saturday night.

River Bluff’s Brandon Tillmon and A.C. Flora’s Rion Davis started on defense for the Flames in the 48-45 victory. Tillmon, a strong safety, had four tackles and intercepted Baylor’s pass on the final play of the game.

Davis, a starter at spur linebacker, also added four tackles.

It was Liberty’s first victory over an FBS opponent. The Flames, who are in their first season transitioning to FBS, were 33 1/2 –point underdogs.
