A look at the SC Mr. Football finalists and previous winners

The 2017 South Carolina Mr. Football award will be handed out Saturday at halftime of the Touchstone Energy North-South football game in Myrtle Beach.

Here is a look at the five finalists:

Amir Abrams, RB, Newberry: Rushed for 2,124 yards and 36 touchdowns. For his career, Abrams has 6,140 yards and 100 total touchdowns. Was Class 3A Upper State Back of Year and selected to play in the North-South game.

Colton Bailey, QB Chapman: Senior threw for 3,410 yards and rushed for 919 with 60 total touchdowns. For his career, he has completed 71 percent of his passes, thrown for 10,076 yards, rushed for 2,014 yards with 155 total TDs. Selected to play in the North-South game but will miss because of injury.

Dakereon Joyner, QB, Fort Dorchester: South Carolina commit threw for 2,376 yards and rushed for 980 yards with 49 total TDs. Was 40-3 as a starting QB over past three seasons and finished with 9,745 passing yards, 3,324 rushing yards and 157 touchdowns. Named Palmetto Champions Back of the Year. Selected to play in Shrine Bowl and Offense-Defense Bowl.

Connor Shugart, LB Spartanburg: Led Spartanburg with 125 tackles and four sacks. Linebacker has 231 tackles over the past two seasons. Was named the Class 5A Upper State Back of the Year and a Shrine Bowl selection.

Channing Tindall, LB, Spring Valley: Had 170 tackles, nine sacks. Over past two years, he has recorded 314 tackles and 17 sacks. Selected to play in the Shrine Bowl and U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
