Gilbert receiver is Midlands high school football player of the week

Gilbert receiver Gage Gunter was voted our Midlands football Player of the Week for games played last weekend. Congrats to Gage and all of the nominees.

Antonio Williams, WR, Dutch Fork: In a 56-0 win over Socastee, Williams caught passes for 131 yards and a touchdown, had a 39-yard touchdown run and returned a punt 62 yards for a touchdown.

Bennett Galloway, RB, Chapin: In a 50-14 win over Carolina Forest, the North Carolina State commit rushed for 180 yards, three touchdowns and caught a 65-yard TD pass.

Chris Lofton, WR/DB, AC Flora: In a 34-10 win over Indian Land, Lofton caught six passes for 111 yards and a TD, returned an interception for a touchdown and had four tackles.

DeAree Rogers, WR, Irmo: In a 21-10 win over York, Rogers became the school’s single-season receiving yards leader after catching 8 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns.

Dontrell Stradford, DL, Camden: In the 56-0 win over Bishop England, Stratford had six tackles, four for loss, as the Bulldogs’ defense held the Bishops to minus-16 yards of offense.

Dylan Richardson, QB, Hammond: In a 31-0 win over First Baptist, Richardson was 9-of-18 passing for 156 yards two touchdowns and also carried it 15 times for 76 yards and two TDs.

DQ Smith, QB, Spring Valley: In a 32-24 win over Nation Ford, Smith was 12-of-19 passing for 119 yards and rushed 20 times for 178 yards and four touchdowns.

Evan Werner, WR, Ben Lippen: In the 57-42 loss to Trinity Collegiate, Werner had 15 catches for 155 yards and two touchdowns.

Gage Gunter, WR, Gilbert: In the 53-13 win over Loris, Gunter caught 3 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

Jonah McCary, QB, Saluda: In a 38-14 win over Andrew Jackson, McCary was 12-of-19 for 178 yards. two touchdowns and also carried it 7 times for 55 yards and two touchdowns.

KZ Adams, RB, Gray Collegiate: In 63-0 win over North Central, Adams carried it 14 times for 254 yards and 5 TDs in the first half. He also went over 2,000 rushing yards for the season.

Robert Adams, QB, Lower Richland: In a 27-21 win over Seneca, Adams was 9-of-18 passing for 201 yards, three touchdowns and carried it eight times for 84 yards and a touchdown.
