South Carolina made the top 10 for coveted in-state lineman Xzavier McLeod.

The Camden junior defensive lineman released his final 10 schools on Friday. In addition to the Gamecocks, the other schools on the list were Auburn, Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, Oregon, LSU, Florida State, Michigan and Oklahoma.

The 6-foot-4, 324-pound McLeod is the third-ranked prospect in the state and ranked No. 171 nationally for Class of 2023 by 247Sports Composite.

South Carolina offered McLeod as a freshman and have been recruiting heavily since even after the coaching change from Will Muschamp to Shane Beamer. He has visited the campus several times including last month for spring practice.

“What stands out the most about SC is that it is home and they make me feel like that every time I step into the building. They have a great environment there,” McLeod told The State on Friday.

McLeod has been busy over the last few months with college visits. He has visited Florida, Florida State, Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and LSU. He plans to return to Georgia next week during his Spring Break. He said there is no timetable as far as a decision.

McLeod had 58 tackles, five sacks and team-high 21 quarterback pressures in helping Camden to its second straight Class 3A championship appearance.
