It’s time to vote for The State’s high school football Player of the Week from Midlands-area high schools and games played Aug. 26-27. Voting ends Friday at noon. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.

Brady Albro, QB, Chapin: Sophomore was 12-of-17 passing for 203 yards, three total touchdowns in the win over Mid-Carolina.

AJ Brand, QB, Irmo: Sophomore threw two touchdowns, ran for another in come-from-behind win over Andrew Jackson.

Aidan Canzater, RB, Hammond: Senior running back rushed for 88 yards, three touchdowns and also caught a 64-yard touchdown pass in a win over Florence Christian.

Jarvis Green, RB, Dutch Fork: Senior carried it 23 times for 306 yards and two touchdowns in win over Spartanburg.

Averee Hickmon, RB, Camden: Junior rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns in win over Lugoff-Elgin.

Kinson Holland, RB, Blythewood: Sophomore rushed for 138 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns in a win over Richland Northeast.

Jeff McCallum, QB, Northside Christian: QB was 21-of-28 passing for 382 yards and three touchdowns in win over Greenwood Christian.

Cam McMillon, QB, Fairfield Central: Freshman was 23-of-38 for 393 yards, five touchdowns in comeback win over Andrew Jackson.

Jonah Norris, RB, Lexington: Senior rushed for 328 yards, five touchdowns, including the game-winner with 18 seconds left, in a 63-56 win over South Aiken.

Lamarion Pearson, RB, Lower Richland: Junior rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns in win over Westwood.

AJ Reyes, RB, Cardinal Newman: Senior rushed for 136 yards, four touchdowns and also blocked a punt for a touchdown in a loss to Pee Dee Academy.

Landon Sharpe, QB, White Knoll: Sophomore was 13-of-16 passing for 198 yards and four touchdowns in win over Spring Valley.

Riley Staton, QB, Gray Collegiate: Junior was 20-of-32 passing for 300 yards and four touchdowns in loss to Crestwood.

Tanner Staton, QB, Brookland-Cayce: Senior threw three touchdown passes in win over Airport.

Jake Torbett, S/P, Gilbert: Senior had nine tackles, an interception and blocked a punt in win over Batesburg-Leesville. He also had two punts, both downed inside the 20-yard line.
