Heathwood Hall QB named The State’s high school football Player of the Week
Congratulations to Heathwood Hall quarterback Patrick Belk for winning the vote for this week’s State’s Midlands Player of the Week honors.
A new poll will be released on Monday.
The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun..

Michael Aitchison, LB, Hammond: Senior had four tackles, including one for loss, returned an interception and fumble for touchdowns in the win over Wilson Hall.
Patrick Belk, QB, Heathwood Hall: Freshman was 21-of-35 passing for 223 yards, a touchdown and carried it 11 times for 56 yards in the win over Cardinal Newman.
Harrison Collins, QB, Blythewood: Junior threw for 415 yards, five touchdowns and also ran for a score in the win over Goose Creek.
Jylil Favor, LB, Irmo: Junior had 14 tackles, two sacks and a fumble recovery in the Yellow Jackets’ victory over Hartsville.
Zion Fuller, RB, Spring Valley: Senior had 21 carries for 173 yards and a touchdown in a win over Richland Northeast.
Noah Jennings, WR, Westwood: Senior caught 11 passes for 203 yards, three touchdowns as the Redhawks defeated Midland Valley.
Naahzeikial Mays, QB/RB, Brookland-Cayce: Senior moved to quarterback duties Friday and rushed 18 times for 218 yards, three touchdowns and had 10 tackles in win over Chapin.
Eric McClain, LB, AC Flora: Junior had 16 tackles, two for loss, in the Falcons’ win over Camden.
Adonis McDaniel, WR, Ridge View: Senior caught six passes for 70 yards and also returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score in the Blazers’ win over Dreher.
Maurice McQuire, RB, Dutch Fork: Senior carried it 12 times for 191 yards and three touchdowns in a win over North Augusta.
Jesse Ross, RB, White Knoll: Carried it 19 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns in the win over South Aiken.
Kendall Stroman, WR/S, Airport: Senior had five catches for 90 yards, three touchdowns and also an interception in a win over Fox Creek.
Zeb Taylor, DE, Gray Collegiate: Sophomore had 11 tackles, three sacks, in the win over Eau Claire.
Anthony Wicker, RB, Mid-Carolina: Senior rushed 25 times for 240 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Columbia.
