It’s time to vote for The State’s high school football Player of the Week from Midlands-area high schools and games played Nov. 4. Voting ends Friday at noon. The winner will be announced on Lou Bezjak’s Twitter page.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.

Aliam Appler, QB, Dutch Fork: Senior was 10-of-13 passing for 193 yards, three touchdowns and also rushed for 61 yards and a TD in a playoff win over Mauldin.

Drew Arant, QB, Saluda: Sophomore was 12-of-14 passing for 205 yards, five touchdowns in a playoff win over Liberty.

Tyrell Brown, DL, Newberry: Senior had 10 tackles, three for loss, in a playoff win over Batesburg-Leesville.

Zack Earle, LB, Camden: Senior had nine tackles and an interception in a playoff win over Loris.

Jashaun Manning, LB, Fairfield Central: Senior had 22 tackles in a playoff win over Ninety-Six.

Zay Mathis, DB, Hammond: Sophomore defensive back had two tackles, picked off two passes, had three pass break-ups in a playoff win over Augusta Christian.

Kmadi Maxwell, WR, Lexington: Senior caught five passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns in a playoff win over Wando.

Naahzeikial Mays, RB./DB Brookland-Cayce: Senior had 14 rushes for 163 yards, four touchdowns and also four tackles on defense.

Hernandez O’Neal, QB, Keenan: Senior was 21-of-22 passing for 500 yards and seven touchdowns, and ran for 64 yards, two TDs in a playoff win over Landrum.

Dawan Rice, RB/LB, CA Johnson: Senior ran for 135 yards, had 10 tackles including six sacks, in playoff win over Ridge Spring-Monetta.

Chris Thomas, WR, Blythewood: Junior had eight catches for 82 yards and a touchdown, and also returned a punt for a touchdown in a playoff win over Boiling Springs.

Markel Townsend, RB, AC Flora: Senior rushed for 165 yards, three touchdowns and also caught a TD pass in playoff win over Wilson. Townsend also went over 2,000 yards rushing for the season.
