Richard Winn quarterback voted The State’s Midlands football Player of Week

The votes have been tabulated and Richard Winn’s Charlie Bonds is the winner in The State’s Midlands high school football Player of the Week.

Thanks to everyone who voted for the poll and throughout the year. This is the last poll of the season. There will more next month to go with our all-area team.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.

Jared Acosta, LB, Newberry: Junior had 13 tackles, three for loss, and a quarterback pressure in win over Saluda.

Charlie Bonds, QB, Richard Winn: Junior was 9-of-14 passing for 279 yards, six touchdowns and ran for 90 yards, a TD in win over Holy Trinity.

JoJo Crim, WR/DB, Camden: Junior had 81 all-purpose yards, caught a TD pass and had six tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown in a win over Dreher.

Caleb Ford, RB, Gray Collegiate: Junior carried it 10 times for 150 yards and four touchdowns in win over Pelion.

Cortez Lane, RB, Cardinal Newman: Senior carried it 19 times for 260 yards, four touchdowns and caught two passes for 30 yards in win over Augusta Christian.

John Lizewski, WR/LB, Northside Christian: Junior had four receptions for 145 yards, a touchdown and picked off two passes in a win over Colleton Prep.

Robert Malanuk, QB, Hammond: Senior was 4-of-4 passing for 102 yards and two touchdowns in win over Trinity Collegiate.

Donovan Murph, WR, Irmo: Sophomore caught four passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns in win over Colleton County.

Landon Sharpe, QB, White Knoll: Junior was 20-of-23 passing for 240 yards, three touchdowns and six rushes for 35 yards, TD in win over Cane Bay.

Josh Smith, DE, Dutch Fork: Senior had six tackles, three sacks and forced fumble in win over Boiling Springs.

Trevon Williamson, RB, Gilbert: Freshman running back carried it 24 times for 200 yards, four touchdowns and caught a 25-yard TD pass in win over Darlington.

DeShaun Washington, RB, Brookland-Cayce: Senior rushed for 254 yards and two touchdowns in win over Lake City.

Desmond Washington, QB, Keenan: Junior was 8-of-17 passing for 196 yards, two touchdowns and carried it six times for 62 yards and a TD in a win over Ninety-Six.

Will Wilson, QB, Richland Northeast: Junior NC State commit carried it 17 times for 401 yards, five touchdowns and threw for 122 yards in win over Bluffton.
