White Knoll rallies past Spring Valley in overtime
Sam Hayes scored on a 4-yard pass from Calev Grubbs to rally White Knoll to a 28-21 overtime victory over Spring Valley Thursday night at Harry Parone Stadium.
After scoring, the Timberwolves had to play defense. On the first offensive play, the Vikings threw an errant pitch and Justin Riley fell on it to preserve the win.
White Knoll (5-1) scored on a 9-yard run by Grubbs with 23 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Daniel Fulmer kicked the extra point to force the extra period.
The Timberwolves have won five games in a row heading into Region 5-4A play next week. Spring Valley (3-3) has a three-game losing streak heading into Region 4-4A play.

“You have to make plays. We told our kids last week, it’s the little things we have to be able to do. We have to get off the field on fourth down. They make the plays down the stretch and we didn’t make them.” – Spring Valley coach Robin Bacon
