Batesburg-Leesville stays perfect with OT win
NINETY SIX – Batesburg-Leesville kept its perfect season alive Friday night.
The Panthers rallied late in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then scored on the first possession of OT in the 44-36 victory over Ninety Six on Friday.
Batesburg-Leesville is 7-0 for the first time since 2002.
B-L running back Terrence Wilson finished with 141 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-tying TD with 55 seconds left in regulation the winning score and two-point conversion in OT.
Panthers quarterback Mike Smith was 13-of-26 for 147 yards and also rushed for 67 yards. Smith’s 38-yard pass to Jaquarius Hair to the Ninety Six 5-yard line helped set up the game-tying TD in regulation.
