Chapin runs over Wren behind Logan Bailey’s big day
In a dark moment with its season on the line Friday night against Wren, Chapin turned where it usually does: quarterback Logan Bailey.
The powerful runner put on a show, leading the Eagles from an 11-point deficit in the second quarter to a 42-30 victory against Wren (7-5) in the Class 3A playoffs.
Chapin (11-1) advanced to the quarterfinals, where it will host Union County next week.
Bailey, who had 401 total yards, played well in the first half, but his team needed a bit more, and he scored the first three touchdowns of the second half.
“The coaches just said, ‘Look, we’re going to look at you, we need you.’” Bailey said. “I said, ‘I got you.’”
TURNING POINT
When Bailey ran for 65 of his team’s 78 yards on a go-ahead drive following two Eagles defensive stops inside the Chapin 30.
