How Midlands players fared in Shrine Bowl

A look at area players’ performances in the 79th annual Shrine Bowl:

Torrey Boone (Westwood) – Played on offensive line.

T.J. Brunson (Richland Northeast) – Named SC Defensive MVP after recording 13 tackles, seven solo and one sack.

Larry Collins (Lower Richland) – Had four catches for 55 yards and an 11-yard TD.

Demarcus Gilmore (Newberry) – Started on offensive line at guard.

Nick Graves (Lexington) – Played defensive back and had one tackle.

Jayson Hopper (Lexington) – Had one catch for five yards.

Tyrone Kelly (Camden) – Played defensive line and didn’t record a tackle.

Chris McCarthy (Westwood) – Played offensive line.

Brandon Tillmon (River Bluff) – Had two tackles at linebacker.

Yafari Werts (Newberry) – Had two carries for minus-3 yards.
