Gonzalez dominates in Fireflies’ shutout win
Harol Gonzalez allowed two hits over six innings, leading the Columbia Fireflies over the Augusta GreenJackets in a 3-0 win Saturday at Spirit Communications Park.
Matt Pobereyko got Shawon Dunston to fly out with runners on first and second to end the game for his first save of the season.
Gonzalez (8-7) struck out four and walked two to pick up the win. The Fireflies’ recorded their 14th shutout of the year.
Columbia’s Natanael Ramos and J.J. Franco scored on errors in the third inning and Colby Woodmansee hit an RBI single in the fourth.
Domenic Mazza (6-9) went six innings for Augusta, allowing three runs and three hits. He also struck out 10 and walked two.
The Fireflies will try to split the four-game series when the teams play on Sunday at 5 p.m.
