RiverDogs pitchers hold Fireflies to five hits in win
Steven Sensley homered and had two hits Tuesday as the Charleston RiverDogs defeated the Columbia Fireflies 5-2 at Spirit Communications Park.
Trailing 2-0 in the second, Columbia cut into the lead when Jay Jabs hit a solo home run.
After the teams traded runs in the third, the RiverDogs extended their lead in the seventh inning when Dalton Blaser hit an RBI double, bringing home Oswaldo Cabrera.
The RiverDogs tacked on another run in the ninth when Isiah Gilliam hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Diego Castillo.
Columbia starter Darwin Ramos (0-2) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game after allowing three runs and four hits over five innings.
J.J. Franco singled twice, also stealing a base for the Fireflies.
