Fireflies' first season will be broadcast on WGCV

The Columbia Fireflies full 140-game schedule will be broadcast on the radio through Glory Communications for the 2016 season. The Fireflies home and away games will be simulcast on WGCV 620 AM and 105.1 FM.

“Our broadcast partnership with Glory Communications is a perfect match,” Fireflies team president, John Katz said. “Their station format is very family-oriented, which aligns particularly well with what the team will be doing at the ballpark and around the Midlands.”

The Fireflies announced the hiring of Kevin Fitzgerald as the director of broadcasting and media relations. Fitzgerald spent the 2015 baseball season as the assistant director of broadcasting and media relations with the Fort Wayne TinCaps of the Midwest League.
