Fireflies score five in ninth to rally past Drive

Trailing by one run, Columbia scored five runs in the top of the ninth to rally past Greenville on Thursday night.

Ivan Wilson doubled to lead off the inning, scoring on Tucker Tharp’s single to tie the game, and Vinny Siena doubled in Tharp to put Columbia ahead.

Wilson homered and had two doubles to lead the Fireflies (8-7). Wilson knocked in two runs. David Thompson had four hits for Columbia, and drove in three runs.

Alex Palsha (1-1) picked up the win, striking out five over 2 2/3 scoreless innings.

Austin Glorius took the loss for the Drive (9-6). Glorius pitched three innings, but was unable to record an out in the ninth.

The teams continue their series tonight at 7:05.
