Columbia Fireflies down Greenville for road win
Dash Winningham and Milton Ramos drove in two runs each as Columbia jumped out to an early lead to defeat Greenville 6-4 on Monday night at Fluor Field.
Ramos doubled in a run in the second, which was followed by a Tyler Moore sacrifice fly to give Columbia a 2-0 lead. The Fireflies added two runs in the third on a Winningham double. They got another run in the fourth on an RBI double by Josh Ockimey.
Starter Chase Ingram (3-2) picked up the win for the Fireflies (17-14), giving up four hits and four runs in five innings before Tyler Bashlor entered the game in relief. Alex Palsha picked up his third save, giving up one hit and striking out two in 1 2/3 innings.
Marc Brakeman took the loss for Greenville (15-15), giving up five runs in five innings.
The teams have their series finale on Tuesday at 2:05 p.m.
