Blowfish blow out Redwolves
The Lexington County Blowfish jumped out to an early lead in Thursday night’s game against the Florence Redwolves, but used a five-run eighth inning to secure a 10-4 win.
South Carolina ace Will Crowe continued his rehabilitation from Tommy John surgery and tossed four solid innings at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium. Crowe surrendered one run on two hits and a walk while striking out five in the no-decision.
James Townsend-Chase was the winning pitcher in large part because of his teammates deluge of runs in the eighth that broke open a game that had been tied at 4-all.
Right fielder Jordan Wren led the offense, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Henry Davis went 3-for-4 with an RBI and run, while Adam Renwick had two hits and scored twice, as did Derek Olenchuk, while Chas McCormick notched two RBIs.
The Blowfish (12-8) will play at Asheboro on Thursday.
