Who are early Carolina Panthers camp MVPs? Plus an interview with JJ Jansen
By Alex Zietlow and
Mike Kaye
Wednesday marks a week since training camp began for the Carolina Panthers — and naturally, a lot has happened.
Young defensive players have emerged. Veteran offensive players look ready for a renaissance. Rookies look promising. And training camp heroes — ones not named Demani Richardson, even! — have begun to emerge as “dark horse candidates” to make the 53-man roster.
The two of them also got the chance to sit down with JJ Jansen — the longest tenured player in Panthers franchise history who Kaye calls “America’s long snapper” — for an interview that hits on everything. And we mean everything: from that special 2015 season (that the Observer recently premiered a documentary on), to insight on the kicking competition ... and, of course, a Year 3 Bryce Young.
