Wrestling’s Monday Night Raw returning to Columbia for nationally televised event
The WWE is looking to put its grip on Columbia wrestling fans in a stranglehold as it brings one of its signature events to Colonial Life Arena.
Monday Night Raw will be held in Columbia on April 20, arena officials said Tuesday in a news release.
This will be the first time the nationally televised wrestling program will be held in South Carolina’s capital city in nearly a decade, according to the release.
The “action-packed” show will be broadcast live on the USA Network, arena officials said.
Tickets for the show will go on sale Feb. 28 at 10 a.m., and will be available online at ticketmaster.com and at the arena box office.
Information on ticket prices was not available.
The show will be coming on the heels of WWE’s premier event, WrestleMania.
South Carolina native the Big Show and North Carolina’s Charlotte Flair are among the wrestlers scheduled to appear in Columbia, according to the release.
Other wrestlers currently scheduled to hit the ring include Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, The Kabuki Warriors, AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Andrade, Zelina Vega, Bobby Lashley, Lana, Kevin Owens, arena officials said.
The wrestling card is subject to change.
