Sumter pitcher picks USC

Sumter left-handed pitcher Jordan Montgomery (6-3 180) committed to the USC baseball team Tuesday for the 2011 class.

Montgomery is the 13th commitment for the Gamecocks' class.

Last season Montgomery won eight games and had an ERA of 1.20. He struck out 93 batters in 54 innings.

He was named to the 4A all state team.
