RIP Pat Conroy: Twitter remembers the iconic Lowcountry author
News of Pat Conroy’s death Friday night spread quickly, fueled in large part by social media.
The author’s name was among a select few of the most tweeted terms in all the United States Friday night into Saturday morning.
Many of those tweeting were longtime fans. Some related to his military upbringing. Others were inspired by his work to become authors themselves. And nearly all noted his impact on South Carolina and the Lowcountry.
Here is a look at just some of those who remembered Pat Conroy via Twitter.
