It wasn’t quite a Black Friday, but rather, a Pink Sunday, as shoppers snatched up products from a Lilly Pulitzer collection offered at Target stores.

Shoppers along the East Coast lined up for hours – some of the lines snaked through the large parking lots – for opening at 8 a.m.

Online, Target’s website crashed as shoppers flocked to the website en masse to purchase clothes, housewares, bags and other products with the colorful beach vibe patterns.

Through social media, shoppers showed empty racks and said merchandise was gone within five minutes.

Target apologized for the website crashing for online shoppers. Even actress Kristin Davis, whose “Sex and the City” character was the epitomy of Lilly Pulitzer style, was stymied by website problems. She bonded with others in tweets.

Cameran Eubanks of the TV reality series “Southern Charm” had some advice for disappointed fans. “Saks.com is 30 [percent] off today.”

Here’s more of the social media buzz about the sale.
