How We Go Columbia: Original Pancake House part of weekends with grandkids
The Original Pancake House on Forest Drive is a great place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast with family and friends. In what’s become a monthly tradition, the kids, grandkids and I will meet up there on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
On weekends many other families and groups have the same great idea, so it’s best to get there before 9 a.m. if you want to be seated quickly. Otherwise, you’re likely to see a crowd gathered outside. But don’t let that scare you off: even when it looks jammed, the longest we’ve had to wait for a table is about 20 minutes and frequently less.
The Original Pancake House features a broad menu of carefully prepared, delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes, served by a smiling and efficient staff. As you might imagine from the name, the emphasis is on breakfast. It’s located at 4840 Forest Drive in Forest Acres, just outside of Columbia.
