Cardinal Crossing, the multi-use site at the former Cardinal Newman school, might not be the only commercial/residential development along Forest Drive.

According to a post on the Forest Acres Neighborhood Association’s Facebook page, a developer is proposing three commercial buildings and approximately 13 townhomes on the corner of Forest Drive and Brentwood. The property — sitting across Brentwood from MUV Fitness and South State Bank — is currently the site of a small block of rental homes and is near the rear entrance into A.C. Flora High School.

Forest Acres Planning Commission has scheduled a public hearing on rezoning the property from Residential-2 to a Planned Development District for 6 p.m. Jan. 23 at Forest Acres City Hall.
