Did your employer make list of best SC places to work?

Seventeen businesses in Richland and Lexington counties were named among the top places to work in South Carolina, according to the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce.

The “Best Place to Work” award is open to all South Carolina for-profit and not-for-profit organizations with at least 15 in-state employees. The Best Companies Group in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, has administered the program in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and SC Biz News for the past 12 years.

The state’s top-ranked small to medium-sized business is Greenville’s Advoco, while the top large employer is Florence’s Edward Jones. They were among a total of 70 South Carolina companies ranked as the state’s best places to work: 28 large ones, with 250 or more employees, and 42 small or medium-sized ones, with fewer than 250 employees.

Recruiting Solutions of Columbia, at No. 7, was the highest-ranking small to medium-sized business in the Midlands, while Fred Anderson Toyota, at No. 4, was the Midlands’ highest-ranking large employer.

The Best Companies Group bases its results on a two-part survey that looks at workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics, among other things. The winners will be honored this week at a Columbia reception.
