One of Frank's Car Wash's most popular locations will be moving soon.

The Frank's Car Wash at 120 Clemson Rd. will soon relocate to 105 Sparkleberry Crossing Rd. on the lot formerly home to Putt Putt Fun Center. The move was not voluntary, according to Frank's' Car Wash owner Mike Hutchins, but is necessary as a result of a new intersection being built at Clemson Road and Sparkleberry Lane which will require use of the 120 Clemson Rd. lot.

The new Frank’s location is only 200 yards away and will have the same size car wash tunnel and two vacuum canopies as well as easier access thanks to the entrance on Sparkleberry Crossing Road instead of the highly trafficked Clemson Road.

"That location is only eight years old but the new one will be even more up-to-date with the latest state-of-the-art systems," Hutchins said. "It will be even better in terms of functionality."

On Wednesday, Hutchins also broke ground on a Frank's Car Wash location at 5385 Platt Springs Rd. in the White Knoll community. That location is the 16th Frank's Car Wash in the state. Hutchins also has two additional locations in the planning stages. While he is not ready to announce the addresses for those locations, they are outside the Midlands area, he said.

Hutchins purchased the business from his father, Frank Hutchins, in 1992. The first Frank’s opened on Bush River Road in 1973.
