The Hobby Lobby located in the newly constructed Lexington Marketplace shopping center at 5322 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington has set an official grand opening date for Monday, Sept. 11.
The store will occupy 55,000 square feet in the shopping center which totals 135,000 square feet.
Tuesday Morning, Brain Balance student achievement center and Lee Nails recently signed leases on some of the last remaining vacant spaces at the center. The Fresh Market will join Hobby Lobby in anchoring the center. According to a statement from The Fresh Market to The State, the grocery chain does not plan to release the opening date of that location until immediately prior to opening.
Other Lexington Marketplace tenants include restaurants MOD Pizza and Tijuana Flats and retail tenants Ulta and Charleston-based ladies clothing and accessories boutique Affordables Apparel. MOD Pizza will be moving into a 2,499-square-foot space. The location will be the third Midlands-area location for the fast casual Seattle-based pizza eatery which earlier this year announced locations at the Shoppes at Woodhill on Garners Ferry Road and in the new Shoppes at Two Notch.
Tijuana Flats Tex-Mex restaurant will occupy 2,478 square feet at the shopping center. Tijuana Flats opened a location in late 2015 on Percival Road at Forest Drive in Forest Acres. The Alamonte Springs, Fla.-based restaurant has 120 locations nationwide with two other South Carolina locations in Greenville.
The shopping center is located next to La-Z-Boy in the 5300 block of Sunset Boulevard and is being developed and leased by Charlotte, N.C.-based The Shopping Center Group.
