Richland County coroner identifies victim shot, killed Thursday night

The Richland County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim that was shot and killed Thursday evening on Head Street.

Coroner Gary Watts said 58-year-old Kevin Belser, of Prosperity, died of complications from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

Watts said Belser was found dead in the front yard of a residence in the 14000 block of Head Street, off Two Notch Road, at 11:30 p.m.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Lt. Curtis Wilson said deputies are continuing to investigate to determine who is responsible for the shooting.
