CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY FOUNDATION has opened nonprofit registration for Midlands Gives through Feb. 29. The 24-hour Midlands Gives local online giving challenge will be May 3. HAVANA NIGHTS will be 7-10 p.m. Jan. 30, 300 Senate St. The event, which benefits Family Promise of the Midlands, will feature live music, dancing, an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, a cigar patio and a silent auction. NOTHING BUT NET charity basketball game will be 6 p.m. Thursday at W.J. Keenan High School, 361 Pisgah Church Road. Proceeds from the game featuring Richland One vs. Richland Two will benefit the Palmetto Health Breast Center through the Palmetto Health Foundation’s Walk for Life/Race for Life. Tickets are $5 for attendees ages 6 and older. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free. Tickets available at at the door and at Richland One and Richland Two district offices, 1616 Richland St. and 6831 Brookfield Road, respectively. Tickets purchased prior to the flood will be honored.

WALK FOR LIFE/RACE FOR LIFE will be 8 a.m. Saturday at Finlay Park. The Palmetto Health Foundation is hosting the event, with proceeds benefiting the Palmetto Health Breast Center. Registration for individuals ranges from $30-$35. Sign up individually or as a team at palmettohealthfoundation.org.

AMERICAN RED CROSS is hosting a blood drive 7 a.m.-7 p.m. today at PLEX Indoor Sports, 741 Fashion Drive at the Village at Sandhill. All presenting donors will receive a T-shirt, PLEX roller skating and inflatable park passes while supplies last. Marco’s pizza will also be given to donors starting at 11 a.m. Presenting donors can also enter for a chance to win PLEX HiWire passes and concert tickets. HISTORIC COLUMBIA is looking for volunteers willing to donate nine or more hours a month. Volunteer opportunities include giving tours, museum maintenance, gardening, administrative work and helping with educational programs. PALMETTO HEALTH is offering free health screenings in 2016 for individuals who qualify based on age and risk. Prostate cancer and diabetes screenings will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. every Thursday at the Office of Community Health in the basement level of Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St. Breast. Cervical cancer screenings will be 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 8 a.m.-noon the second Saturdays of the month at Palmetto Health Women’s Center, 1801 Sunset Drive. Prostate cancer, including prostate specific antigen and digital rectal exams, 5:30-7 p.m. the fourth Tuesdays of the month at Cancer Health Initiative Men’s Clinic, 1801 Sunset Drive.
