Columbia police released surveillance photos of two people investigators would like to talk to in relation to the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old Columbia man whose body was found on Sunday morning in a motel on North Main Street.

An employee found the man’s body at 11 a.m. Sunday in a room at the Coronet Motel, according to the Columbia Police Department. Investigators said the man had a gunshot wound to the upper body, and are looking into the incident as a suspicious death.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts identified the man Tuesday as Tyron Donoven Jackson, of Columbia. An autopsy showed that Jackson died from a gunshot wound to the head, Watts said.

Officials are asking anyone with information on the incident or who can identify the two people in photographs released Tuesday to contact Crimestoppers by calling 1-888-CRIME-SC, sending a text message beginning with “TIPSC” to CRIMES, or going to the “submit a tip” tab at www.midlandscrimestoppers.com.
