Friday marks the one-year anniversary since nine parishioners were slain at Charleston’s Emanuel AME Church.
In remembrance of the tragedy that rocked the state and the nation and in honor of the survivors and the church, a number of events in Charleston will mark the anniversary this week. They include a public, non-denominational Bible study Wednesday night at Emanuel, a non-denominational service Friday at TD Arena and a Walk of Unity and Thanksgiving beginning at Marion Square on Saturday.
Return to The State newspaper and www.thestate.com this week for coverage of these events.
