Drunk driver hits building on S. Kilbourne Saturday morning
A drunk driver crashed into a building on South Kilbourne Road, near the intersection with Rosewood Drive, in Columbia early Saturday morning, police say.
The crash happened around 2:50 a.m. when a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Patrick Reed hit the Federation Center of the Blind of S.C. building, according to Columbia police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons.
There was no significant damage to the building and no injuries as a result of the crash, though Reed was taken to a hospital to be examined, Timmons said.
Reed is charged with driving under the influence, first offense, and was being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on Saturday morning.
