Police officer fired for inappropriately touching female victim
An officer with the Pickens Police Department is being charged after he allegedly assaulted a female victim while operating in the capacity of a police officer, according to arrest warrants filed with SLED.
Robert Lee Sapp, 56, has been charged with first degree assault and battery as well as misconduct in office after he allegedly touched the victim’s breast and other body parts on June 19, according to the warrants.
Sapp was delivered the arrest warrants on Wednesday.
The warrants said Sapp “began to kiss the victim and rub his body against hers. During the act of rubbing against the victim the defendant exposed her breast.”
The warrants said Sapp then allegedly kissed the victim’s chest.
Pickens police officials said Sapp has since been fired following the charges filed against him.
